Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Environmental Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Apply standard scientific techniques and procedures
  • Assist with preparation of wetland delineation reports, environmental permit applications, National Environmental Policy Act documents, and biological assessments.
  • Assist with field collection and/or mapping of natural resource data, figure/graphic preparation, and GIS data analysis.
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education in environmental science, biology, or related program
    Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Ability and willingness to accommodate field working conditions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
  • Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, confined-space entry, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights and have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge in GIS and software packages related to field of study/industry
