Job Description

MWH Constructors, a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the team on a PFAS mitigation project in Madison, Maine. The Assistant PM must ensure work is performed on budget, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents and engineering/construction standards.

Essential Functions

  • Support project objectives and company policies.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with the client and related contacts to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor and control construction to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in various meetings.
  • Assist in the management of financial aspects of contracts (invoices, change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders) to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships.
  • Collaborate with other members of the project team to complete project-related documents (schedules, forecasts, reports, etc.)
  • Ensure employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
  • Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to project engineers, field engineers, and superintendents.
  • Support procurement of materials through purchase agreements and subcontracts.
  • Support change management, cost estimating, revenue, cost forecasting, and scheduling.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Project Manager.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science or higher university degree in engineering, construction management or a related degree. An equivalent combination of experience, skills and training may be substituted.
  • 4+ years of related experience, including demonstrated success as a Project or Field Engineer.
  • Familiarity with preparing contract scoping documents, reading contract drawings and specifications, and basic construction principles and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within water/wastewater treatment plant construction.
  • On-site construction field experience.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $110,000-$130,000/yr., depending on experience.
