CAD Tech Intern - San Antonio, TX

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a CAD Intern to join our team in our San Antonio, TX office. Responsibilities include assisting CAD leads and/or EIT's with project redlines using AutoCAD 2018. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional service to our clients. This internship is open to individuals at all levels of experience, as our primary focus is on providing a supportive learning environment and hands-on training.

Duties and Responsibilities
    Create, edit, and modify CAD drawings
  • Assist in revising or changing drawings and completing standard calculation with specific
    instructions and feedback
  • Work under the guidance of more experienced design technicians and/or engineers to
    complete assigned work
  • Ensures the proper filing of drawing
  • Provides copies of drawings on request
  • Accepts incoming drawing packages from Drafting Manager or Lead Drafter
  • May need to create .pdf files from stored folder as directed
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • Willing to take on other duties as assigned
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Required Experience
  • The Intern must be pursuing a degree or certificate program in Design Drafting, Computer
  • Aided Drafting, Drafting Technology, or other similar program
  • Must have basic knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.) and be capable of working with AutoCAD
  • However knowledge of Civil 3D or Microstation is preferred but not required
  • Possess basic mathematical skills and analytical abilities
