Job Description
This position supports the Economic Development & City Administration departments and plays a key role in supporting the city's economic development initiatives providing a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our community while working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the administration and coordination of the city's Strategic Plan process and other strategic studies.
  • Prepare reports and communications for the City Council, including making presentations on economic development matters.
  • Represent the City at community meetings and events, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Provide support to the Economic Development Director on various projects and initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth within the city, to include evaluation of current policies and programs, and research and analyze trends and opportunities for economic development.
  • Oversee City licensing program, including advising applicants, coordinating with Investigations Division, interpreting City code requirements, seeking legal opinions when needed, and providing guidance to administrative staff on related administrative functions.
  • Conduct citizen, business, employee, and governmental surveys on pertinent issues.
  • Assist in the purchasing process by preparing requests for proposals and evaluating proposals from vendors.
  • Support other departments in completing grant applications and following up on grant opportunities.
  • Respond to inquiries, provide general administrative support, and assist with communication efforts as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Economics, Planning, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • One to three years of experience in local government administration, surveying, or research techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in computer skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, work independently with minimal supervision, and make sound decisions
