Overview

The individual in this position should be a personable, sales oriented, ethical problem solver. Individual should be able to adapt to all of the forces around them - customers, suppliers, employees and manufacture's employees.

Individual should represent Dealer Product Support in a sales capacity and promote all parts for which the Dealer is an authorized Dealer, according to the direction of the General Parts Manager

Basic Duties

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

    Sell parts to all fax-in, email-in, call-in, and walk-in customers
  • Ascertain part number; inspect worn, damaged, or defective part to determine customer need
  • Discuss features and benefits of alternative solutions (repair options) and offer those solutions to the customer (e.g., General Duty/Reman/Used)
  • Advise customer of additional related parts (e.g., gaskets/seals/hardware)
  • Maintain accurate customer and equipment information in the CRM
  • Keep customers informed of new parts, services available, and dealer merchandising programs
  • Advise customer on substitution of part when replacement is not available
  • Support Product Support Field Sales/Inside Sales/Machine Sales/Service Force
  • Participate and complete training as required and/or available
  • Customer parts Sales
  • Customer order processing
  • Telephone selling
  • Operates within all parts policies and procedures of the company
  • Maintains high personal morale
  • Maintains excellent customer relations
  • Attains short and long term objectives

  • Knowledgeable on the parts systems for all vendors represented by the company
  • Knowledgeable about selling and on successful selling techniques
  • Able to deal with customer objections in a professional manner
  • Knowledgeable of the competitive environment in which the dealer operates

Qualifications

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

Individual should have a high school diploma or equivalent; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual should have above average communication skills as well as a mechanical aptitude.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Individual should have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Technical English language skills required. Individual should have the ability to write routine reports and effective correspondence and have the ability to speak effectively with customers or employees.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory software, Internet software, order processing systems, and contact management systems.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position works in both office and warehouse environments. May, on a continuous basis sit at a desk for long periods of time, answer phone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email. May on a continuous basis, walk, bend and lift up to 75 pounds. The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level in the office is usually low and the noise level in the warehouse may range from low to moderate. Must be flexible during peak season working overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
