Senior Manager, Consumer Testing and Claims

COTY is looking for smart leaders who are fast and passionate.

Support product launches and consumer communications through claims substantiation. Contribute to product performance and claims test strategies; Lead the development and execution of claims substantiation testing plans for relevant projects; document and interpret the testing results; manage a small team in testing panel management and in conducting consumer and clinical studies; seek opportunities to improve testing methods and operational efficiency.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Contribute to the development of the overall strategy for the testing in color cosmetics and skin care categories/brands, in coordination with product development (PD) and claims development and management (CDM)teams.
  • Lead the execution of the testing strategy in line with the R&D and Brand strategies supporting development and launches of products.
  • Partner with other teams within Coty Testing Institute (CTI) to ensure that testing activities provide robust scientific support not only for product performance evaluations and claims but also for regulatory submissions when needed.
  • Work with project teams to develop and execute claims substantiation plans with robust testing design and data analysis methodologies. Ensure testing is conducted in accordance with the GCP principles.
  • Partnering with PD and CDM, contribute to the preparation of claims substantiation and approval documents for commercial executions used in PIF, label copy, TV/print, in-store, digital, etc.
  • Evolve the claims testing methods and requirements to anticipate changes in consumer trend and regulatory environment by staying current on new standards in the relevant professional societies.
  • Be enthusiastic about the beauty industry with technical curiosity about different product technologies and their designs with respective benefits to devise and execute new consumer test methodologies.
  • Develop talent and ensure team's skills and capabilities meet the business needs. Improve the operational efficiency in consumer panel management and recruitment.
  • Be a dynamic team player, inspiring manager and establishes and maintains strong collaborative relationships with other CTI members and with outside testing facilities.

All of the above is conducted, under the leadership of Sr Director of CTI, with the maximum alignment between the R&D Leadership, Development labs, Marketing, Regulatory, Safety and Legal. The individual is required to coordinate with all necessary functions from conception to implementation of product testing support in a timing manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

We'd love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

  • Master's degree in a science, consumer research or related field with 5-7 years of work experience OR Bachelors degree in a science, consumer research or related field with 8-10 years of work experience.
  • Significant claims substantiation experience in the relevant industry is required.
  • Consumer product insights research experience is required.
  • Managerial experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in statistics.
  • Well networked with the key industry influencers/stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of all processes of product development, product integrity, safety and regulatory.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, across R&D functions/teams and public groups.
  • Effective communicator verbally and in writing and ability to summarize key learnings and study results to influence decision making.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquires and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
