Job Description
SURVEYOR

POSITION SUMMARY
The Survey Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with surveying. The Survey Technician will work directly with the operations leadership, field and contactors to ensure modeling is completed for assigned projects.  This position will also be responsible for maintaining and tracking the companies surveying equipment.  The Survey Technician will report to the Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As project are assigned, determine whether it is necessary to engage an external resource to perform modeling.  Research external resource options and pricing. Secure resource for project
  • Use systems to perform CAD 3D modeling for smaller projects
  • Load model specifications onto the equipment as required
  • Install GPS equipment on machinery
  • Troubleshoot modeling issues
  • Work as liaison between model company and field as issues arise
  • Research different options/technologies in survey equipment
  • Maintain a system of tracking survey equipment for issuance on projects
  • Survey job sites and prepare calculations for materials and quantities
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and as-built surveys
  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain
  • As builts final measurements
  • CAD programs and calculations for materials
  • Various additional survey related tasks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree desired; High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of survey experience in construction industry preferred
  • Experience with using drone for surveying applications desired
  • Previous AutoCAD and AgTech experience preferred
  • Knowledge of geological description principles and methods
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, legal codes, and government regulation.
Any combination of equivalent education and work experience will be considered
REQUIREMENTS
  • Precise attention to details and exceptionally organized

  • Thrive in fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Occasional travel required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa status)
