- Real hands-on experience in your assigned department/function with day-to-day projects, responsibilities, and deadlines;
- Opportunity to partner with other interns over the summer on a Capstone project, presenting your findings and recommendations to Ace's Leadership;
- Q & A with Ace's CEO and Senior Leadership team;
- Resume Workshop to help you prepare for future opportunities;
- Opportunity to volunteer through the Ace Hardware Foundation; and
- Teambuilding activities.

Your Responsibilities:
The Audit Services internship will provide Finance/Accounting majors with a great opportunity to achieve the following objectives:
- Ability to gain a deeper understanding of key accounting/IT concepts by applying these concepts within a corporate audit environment.
- Understand the dynamics of collaboration by working in a team environment to successfully complete assigned audit projects.
- Develop more effective time management skills by completing various phases of assigned audit project within a specific time frame.
- Gain a general understanding of critical SAP functionality.
- Develop process narrative walkthroughs of controls. These narratives will document the specific Business or IT control processes from start to finish and identify gaps or risks within the process.
- Perform analytical reviews of audit documents to identify potential risks/concerns within assigned audited areas.
- Enhance communication skills by sharing audit findings/recommendations with Ace management through the development and distribution of audit work papers and final audit report.
The ideal intern will possess the following:
- Working towards a bachelor's degree in the following area(s): Finance/Accounting;
- Prior accounting/bookkeeping experience would be a plus;
- Entering senior year of college;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments;
- Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member;
- Takes ownership and accountability of projects and responsibilities;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated motivation and initiative to succeed;
- Knowledge and interest in Ace Hardware Corporation;
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday for 12 weeks; and
- Willingness and ability to give presentations to colleagues, Managers, and Directors.
